TEACHING POSITION OPENING FOR THE 2025/2026 SCHOOL YEAR

POSITION:       Special Education Teacher

GRADES:           6th – 12th

STATUS:           Full-Time - 1.0 FTE

REQUIRED:      Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement

DESCRIPTION:

• Following and writing Individualized Education Plans
• Completing student progress notes
• Attending Special Education meetings
• Scheduling and attending Team Meetings
• Managing Student Assistant Team Folders
• Collect and document student testing/assignment accommodation data
• Knowledge and understanding of the general education standards that need to be met
• Knowledge and experience in accommodating and/or modifying Michigan Merit Curriculum
• Knowledge and experience in creating and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments and Plans
• Knowledge and experience in the completion of Manifestation Determination Reviews
• Knowledge and experience in the referral process as well as the REED (Review of Existing Educational Data/Documentation) process
• Must be patient and flexible
